Name those (former) Elders

Okay fellow N.A.M. survivors, can you name the two former elders in the pic below?

Oh well, I guess I'll just tell you. Friday night I drove down to Ogden and had dinner with James Clegg & Mike Kent and their families. It was a really fun evening and we definitely wished that more of you could be there. (You know who you are, McShiz, Faddy, Pope, and the list goes on and on and on.......) Well it was great to spend some time with a couple of the boys and to get to know their wives and children a little better! I've really missed you guys!

Anyway we decided that we definitely need to just take the initiative and pick a day and place and tell everyone to be there. So if you have any suggestions (and know how to get in touch with more people) let me know. We really are going to try and get together before we all get too old to remember any of the good stories. (Like I'm one to talk, I think I'm actually the oldest of the bunch, aren't I? YIKES!!!!)

Christmas Day Fun

This year we had both of our families come to our place for breakfast on Christmas Day. Then we opened presents. It was really low key, but really nice and lots of fun.

Travis with his brother, Shawn & his dad.

Crookshanks got a new blanket, which Trav's mom, Daniece made for him.

I think he likes it.

Happy Birthday Mom!

As many of you already know, my mom's birthday is Christmas Eve. So every year on Christmas Eve we have pretty much one tradition, Birthday cake, presents and then caroling to the neighbors. It's always fun. Anyway, Happy Birthday Cindy Sue!

According the candles on her cake, she was turning fifty-something, but I know for a fact, she just turned 51.

Travis & I bundled up to go caroling.

Check out our updated profile!

I've recently updated our online adoption profile. To view it go to www.itsaboutlove.org, search adoption profiles and enter travisandcali. I'm open to feedback, so don't be afraid to tell me what you think. And remember to pass it along to anyone you know who might be considering adoption. Love to all!

New Pics of the Baby

Shiloh finally posted pictures of the new baby (and all the other kids) on her blog, so I stole one of my favorites for my blog. This is Lydia with Adam. I thought it was adorable, but then, I could be biased.

Come see me for your mortgage

By the way! I almost forgot to put in here that I got a new job two weeks ago. I'm working as a loan officer at United Mortgage. So when you're ready to buy a house or refinance, come see me and I'll get you all set up. It's been great so far, I absolutely love the company and the people I work with have been incredible. It's nice to be doing something I love. And it's been really fun to be able to help people purchase their own little piece of America. Anyway I love it, it's been great!

Welcome Baby Adam!

Don't get excited, this isn't our baby! But it is exciting because on December 2, my sister, Shiloh, gave birth to her sixth child. They named him Adam Jennings Guffey. I'm sorry I don't have any better pics of him, but here's one of mom and baby shortly after he arrived. I'm so excited he's here and can't wait to have an excuse to go across the country and visit him. Anyway, thought y'all should know.

My Favorite Holiday

Okay, well it can't quite be considered a holiday, but today is an important day. NCAA Basketball officially began last week and today the Tarheels open their regular season against Davidson. I'm not one to make my final four predictions quite this early, but as good as they are this year, I am expecting Carolina to make it to the final four. Anyway I know none of the rest of you are as excitable about basketball as I am, but oh well. Today I'm decked out in my baby blue & getting ready to kick off the most wonderful time of the year. I know it's early, but based on Gardner-Webb's upset of Kentucky, anything can happen this year and it's going to be a wild ride all the way to March. Love to all! Go 'Heels!

Jesse's Halloween Costume

Okay so now I'm dating myself. My prom dress which I wore my sophomore year in high school has now been relegated to the status of Halloween costume. Jesse thought it would be great fun. And it was. Ei-yai-yai! At one time that was the height of fashion! YIKES!!!!!!

Unemployed Again

I won't tell the story. But once again I find myself unemployed and once again I'm not terribly broken up about it. Maybe next time I'll find a job that I really love. Anyway just thought you'd like to know.....

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

As most of you know I LOVE dressing up, so therefore Halloween is one of my favorite days ever! This year I went as a pirate wench. I was only bummed because I couldn't find a scabbard with a sword to complete the outift. Love to all!

More Breaking News!

Well unemployment lasted for all of two weeks. My former manager at DocuTech called me yesterday to offer me a different position within the company. I told her I needed a few days to think about it. This morning I recieved a phone call requesting that I meet with the owner of the company. Anyway, long story short, I accepted the position and will be returning to DocuTech on Friday in a completely different job than what I left. It ought to be an adventure. Lots of Love to all!

By Popular Demand

For those who wanted to see pictures of the new house I finally obliged.

The front exterior view

This is the formal living room upstairs, but it's a little messy right now.

Our gorgeous backyard!

The family room downstairs. (Again, slightly messy.)

I'm not finished with the nursery or the guest bedroom yet, but will be shortly. Eventually though, I'll attach pics of those as well as pics of the kitchen & dining room etc. Anyway, enjoy.....

The Breaking News

So funny story, I got laid off from DocuTech today. Not to worry, I really haven't been that upset by it. (My supervisor cried while letting me go, but I just kind of shrugged it off.) I've actually been feeling for the last little while that perhaps it's time to move on anyway. To those who were using my work email as a standard source of communication, not to worry, I still have my old hotmail account. I can dust it off until I find something better. In the meantime, I'm going to take a few days off and waste some of my severance package while deciding what my next move will be. Hugs and Kisses to all!

What a beautiful day

Want to know what it does here in the frozen north in Idaho? It snows. These were actually taken early in the storm. We ended up with more than 3 inches and warnings not to leave home because there were trees and power lines coming down everywhere. I think I need to go back to Hawaii.

More Open House

Well, there were a few more photos that I thought I'd attach from the Open House. Just for fun.

My job was to put umbrellas with marschino cherries on the end, into all of the drinks. I was a fun job.

Skye & Ryan's Open House

Now that they're back on the mainland, Skye & Ryan decided to hold an Open House so that family and friends who couldn't attend their wedding, could celebrate with us. It was held at my mom & dad's house and was really low key and a lot of fun. We kept with the Hawaii theme and decorated everything really tropical (easy to do in mom & dad's house for those of you who are familiar with it.) Anyway, a good time was had by all.
