Is it Wrong that I'm Disappointed?

So ever since I decided to finally get in shape and start running again, I've actually been kind of excited about competing in my first 5K on the 4th of July. But now I'm a little bummed. After all the training and getting ready, I'm going to do it alone. And not only will I be running alone, but there won't even be anyone there to cheer me on. With my family gone, Jesse having commitments with her husband's family, & my in-laws going to the cabin, I'll have to cross the finish line alone. I did find someone willing to watch the munchkin, but only if I bring him and drop him off, they can't come to the race.

Maybe this sounds selfish. I mean, I know this shouldn't make me lonely or sad, I'm doing this for me, not anyone else. But it does kind of bum me out that I'll not have anyone there cheering me on. Or at least to take a picture at the finish line to prove that I made it and didn't die.

I totally get what you're saying. Don't give up though. You'll feel so good when you complete it. Even if you walk across the line. You'll love it!

Bummer! You'll have to take a cell phone picture at the finish and post it so we can cheer for you online. Good luck!
