Placement Update
Okay we just got word that placement of our baby will happen on Friday. For those who are wondering why the delay, because of the laws in Idaho, the birth parents actually have to secure a court date and go in front of a judge to terminate parental rights. And until they do that, the birth parents still have legal right over the child. So in our situation, B decided that she wanted to spend a few days with him before placing him. And since she hasn't been to court yet, that's her legal right. So as you can imagine, we've spent the last few days on pins and needles waiting to hear when she'd be ready to place. But we'll have him on Friday. Right now that seems like a lifetime away.

I didn't know that about the birthparents having to secure the court date in Idaho. It is much different in Texas.
I'm sorry you have to wait so long, but you will have a lifetime with him before you when he gets to you!
Okay, I'm going to go think of something to distract you this week because I'm sure it will be the longest week of your life!
HANG IN THERE! YOU ARE ALMOST THERE!!!
I so should drive down to IF (only 4 hours from where I live) and let McCoy be a good distraction for you. I can't believe you have to wait that long. Do you have more pictures to help distract US???
Brenley,
Sadly I don't have any other pictures. I need them just to distract me. And please come and visit me any time you want. I'd absolutely love to have you anytime!
Friday will come soon! But not soon enough, huh?
I am excited for you and will be counting down the hours/minutes until Friday. :)
I hope you have a good week. Good Luck finding a distraction! Maybe you need a quick mini vacation! :)
Well I was wondering what was going on. Your mom sent an email today also. I am glad the day will here soon. Though soon is a relative thing!
Oh, I can't wait until Friday!
So much waiting! At least he'll be in your arms soon!
I can't imagine the wait. It is amazing how each state has such different laws. I am SOOOO glad I didn't have to go before a judge or do anything like that. I would have probably died!!!! That is serious stuff. I wish more states would be like Utah where it is instant and you have 24hrs before you can sign the papers. Doesn't make sense for everyone invloved to have more time. It's not like 9months wasn't long enough to think about it! Hello, freak man.
In sweet "B's" defense how precious that she gets to spend that time with Gideon. Those are priceless moments that will forever be hers that will stay with her forever. I hold the time that I was able to spend with Calli so dear to my heart. The baby that I held for those two weeks is my baby and the baby that is now is not my baby. I am feeling complete ANXIETY for everyone involved. *sigh*
Can't wait for the continuation of your story. )))HUGS(((
I have heard that in Michigan, parental rights don't have to be signed over for 3 whole months!!! I am pretty sure that placement happens before then, but then the mother can wait to sign the papers, so you are basically taking care of a sweet child for three months without fully knowing that he will be yours! It is awful! So now you can count your blessings that you are not here...even though we would love to be there with you to help distract and celebrate! When all is said and done, the Lord knows all and knows best and I know he will bless you! Much love!
